An analogue of diethylcarbamazine, 3-ethyl-8- methyl-l, 3, 8-triazabicyclo decan-2-one, was found to be significantly more effective than diethyl-carbamazine in reducing microfilarial counts in cotton-rats infected with Litomosoides carinii and its activity seemed to persist longer. The new compound appeared to be less toxic than diethylcarba-mazine.
