One of the components of the ASEAN Population Programme is a cluster of country studies on the theme "Integration of population and rural development policies and programmes in ASEAN countries". At a technical meeting held in Singapore in October 1982, these studies were reviewed with a view to presenting the findings of the studies and planning for an extension of the project in 1983-85. (1) Indonesia: base-line study on population in relation to rural development: rural community welfare project; (2) Philippines: rural electrification, fertility, and family planning practice: a case study in Misamis Oriental, Philippines; (3) Singapore: the impact of population social policies on fertility in Singapore; (4) Thailand: health development and population growth in rural Thailand.
