The cases of treatment in pediatric emergency service of a pediatric hospital were evaluated retrospectively over the periods of the winter half years 1981/82 and 1982/83. Special attention was paid to the acute respiratory tract diseases croup syndrome, obstructive bronchitis, and bronchial asthma, the incidences of which were examined for a possible connection with air-hygienic load due to inversions in the weather situation and to biotropic weather influences. Any evident increase in the cases of treatment could not be found, not even during the continuous inversion observed in January 1982.
