Normal reference values of serum zinc in adults: a study by flame atomic absorption spectrophotometry

Zinc concentration in serum has been investigated by flame atomic absorption spectrophotometry. The serum samples of 234 individuals of adults population in Kaohsiung City were analyzed. The samples were directly analyzed after dilution. The reliability of the analysis was checked with Biotrol-33 plus. The mean concentraiton was 99.3 .+-. 18.4 .mu.g/dl. The differences of serum zinc between age and sex groups were analyzed. Factors affecting the analytical results are also discussed.
