Renal oncocytoma is a dysgenetic tumor characterized histologically by uniform eosinophilic cells with no evidence of mitosis and with abundant mitochondria. It accounts for 4 to 8% of kidney tumors and is more prevalent in the male (1.7-2.4:1). Patients are generally asymptomatic. All four cases reported in the present study were women who consulted for a palpable abdominal mass. Diagnosis was established by arteriography which revealed the charasteristic "cartwheel" vascular pattern. The prognosis is good in 96.6% of the cases.
