The case of a patient with systemic necrotizing vasculitis and a renal oncocytoma is reported. After surgical removal of the benign tumor the patient's vasculitis rapidly and completely remitted and he has remained well for > 1 yr. The relationship between benign and malignant tumors and systemic inflammatory reactions is briefly reviewed.
