The height and weight were estimated and sexual growth was assessed for 973 healthy Indian boys and 953 girls aged 4 to 18 years. The increase in weight per unit increase in height was similar for boys and girls but the increase in weight and height per year was greater in boys than in girls. There was constant increase in weight per unit of height to 14 years in girls and to 16 in boys.
