A detailed description is given of an episode of megaloblastic anaemia due to dietary deficiency of vitamin B-12 in a Hindu woman resident in London. There was a haematological response to 1 micro g vitamin B-12 daily by mouth. Twelve other patients with dietary deficiency of vitamin B-12 seen in the same area are also reported; 11 of them were Hindu women. Boiling of milk reduced the vitamin B-12 content and was considered to be an etiological factor in some. J. F.
