The results are presented of the comparative study of morphofunctional value of preserved blood and red blood cell concentrate during storage in Soviet polymer bags and glass bottles. It has been established that prolongation of the storage life for the preserved blood in the full value state depends not only on the composition of the preserving solution, but also in the quality of the container for the blood storage. The best functional value was observed in the blood and red blood cell concentrate that had been stored in the polymer bags as compared to that in the glass bottles.
