During the period under report, extensive disease surveys were carried out in the coco-nut-growing areas of Travancore and Cochin, India. On palms attacked by root disease or wilt the leaves in the outer whorl turn yellow and droop, later becoming brown, drying, and dropping off. Leaves produced after infection are dwarfed and shed quickly.
