A rapid embedding method used in preparation of paraffin tissue block for transmission electron microscopy is recommended. As to the procedures, selection of the tissue area for electron microscopy was done first under light microscope, and the corresponding part was taken off the paraffin tissue block. Then the tissue was deparaffinised and postfixed in a mixed solution of 1% osmium tetroxide and xylol, and was embedded in Epox 618. And then ultrathin section was cut with a glass knife, stained with uranyl acetate and lead tartrate and finally examined with H600-IV TEM. This method is simple, easy and timesaving. The whole process takes only two and a half hours with good results. So this method can be used for pathologic diagnosis.
