Endometrial hyperplasia in young women. a clinical and patho-anatomical study

A retrospecitive investigation of 100 cases of endometrial hyperplasia in young women under the age of 30 years with periods of observation of 4-114 months (average 20.8 months) revealed 55 cases of irregular (cystic) hyperplasia (IH), 41 cases of simple hyperplasia and four cases of adenomatous hyperplasia but no cases of atypical hyperplasia. The hyperplasia persisted unchanged in five patients, all of whom had IH, for up to 30 months after the primary curettage. No cases of aggravation of the hyperplasia or development of cancer were observed in any of the patients in the course of the period of observation.
