Uterine abnormalities, similar pathologically to comparable spontaneous lesions seen in women, were produced experimentally in rabbits by excessive estrogenic stimulation. The abnormalities included the development of endometrial polyps, hyperplasias, metaplasias, and 6 carcinomas. Adenomyosis and endometriosis were also produced. Possible relationships to carcinogenesis of the experimental diabetic state induced with alloxan were studied. The alloxan-diabetic state was not thought to enhance estrogenic effects upon the uterus.
