Study included 62 patients (37 had peptic ulcer and 25 chronic gastroduodenitis). Imodium was found to produce an insignificant inhibiting effect on gastric secretion and motor gastric function, especially pronounced at the level of the antrum. Imodium produces an insignificant effect on the intrarectal pH. Motor intestinal function changes in a different direction depending on the original level. Endoscopy has revealed normalization of the intestinal tone and changes in the rigidity of the intestinal wall. The drug can be recommended for combined treatment of diseases of the gastrointestinal system associated with intestinal dyskinesia.
