On a silver fox farm, 4 of 140 young foxes died during one month. Degenerative changes were present in skeletal and myocardial muscle. The feed contained adequate amounts of Se, but may have been deficient in vitamin E because it contained a high proportion of polyunsaturated fatty acids and rancid fat.
