Filariasis in immigrants in Western Australia, including a case of chyluria recurring in seven pregnancies

Six cases of filariasis in immigrants in Western Australia are recorded. Pathological features and long intervals between attacks of lymphangitis indicated that the death of the adult worms was probably responsible. Wuchereria bancrofti micro-filariae were demonstrated in 2 patients. The worms lived for more than 4 years in one case, more than 3 in two and more than 20 years in one. A case of chyluria recurring during 7 pregnancies is described.
