Proliferation of plasma cells in multiple myeloma (autoradiographic study)

Autoradiography was used to study the proliferative activity of plasmatic cells in 31 patients with multiple myeloma (MM) and in 2 with benign monoclonal gammapathy (BMG). The highest proliferative activity of plasmatic cells in MM. patients was recorded at the initial period of the tumor growth and during relapse, and it lowered during remission. The proliferative activity of plasmatic cells in BMG patients proved to be drastically decreased.
