A significant advantage has been demonstrated of the use of a complex of methods involving the study of cytochemical parameters, immunological characteristics of surface cell markers and the activity of purine nucleotide degradation enzymes for the diagnosis of lymphoid variants of acute leukemia, in the determination of the blast differentiation level in acute lymphoblastic leukemia, and in distinguishing variants and subvariants of this disease.
