Staging in the treatment of maxillary sinus carcinoma

Different original tumor sites of maxillary carcinoma present different early neurological signs by irritating the corresponding trigeminal nerve branch. To facilitate the localization of maxillary sinus carcinoma, we have modified Ohngren's division by dividing the maxillary sinus into 4 quadrants, (ASQ, AIQ, PSQ and PIQ) according to the anatomical distribution of the maxillary nerve, and proposed a TNM classification of the tumor. Based on Broder's grading, the original tumor site, the TNM classification with staging, and the patient's nutritional status suggestions are proposed for clinical evaluation and treatment of maxillary sinus cancer. 10 Cases treated according to these suggestions are reviewed.
