Reparative changes in the neurons of the lateral hypothalamic area of the brain in food deprivation

The features of repair changes in the lateral hypothalamic area of the brain were studied in albino rats subjected to food deprivation. Brain samples were studied using electron microscopy. Food deprivation resulted not only in dystrophic changes in the brain, but also in intracellular regeneration rearrangements. The dystrophic processes led to the death of a part of neurons, which fact points to the failure of compensatory mechanisms.
