The clinical, radiographie and histological features present in 100 cases of the disease are described. The condition is an unusual self-limiting fibrous and osseous proliferation of the long bones affecting chiefly male dogs of the larger breeds. It passes through three phases, the clinical signs (shifting lameness and pain on palpation of affected bones) coinciding with the middle phase. Radiography of the latter revealing the characteristic radiodense medullary cavity is confirmatory. The cause is unknown.
