Drug-induced thrombocytopenia was simulated in experiments on dogs. It was found that transfusion of thrombocytic mass induced activation of the megakaryocytic- thrombocytic apparatus. It is thought that activation of the sympathoadrenal system plays the main part in this mechanism that is proved by the noradrenaline administration before the thrombocytic mass transfusion. The effect observed was caused by the spleen contraction and prevention of the deposition of transfused platelets, and by the stimulation of the megakaryocytic bone marrow stem.
