Multiple, pruritic skin crusts on the nose, neck, back and caudal aspects of the pasterns in a group of 15 donkeys yielded S. hyicus along with Micrococcus and Bacillus species. The S. hyicus was sensitive in vitro to commonly used antibiotics, and intramuscular treatment with a penicillin preparation was successful.
