Popularization of water purifying technology at household level in slum areas

A study was conducted in slum areas of Delhi after selecting 200 women respondents randomly. Results regarding water facility showed that most of the respondents (56.50%) used handpump water for drinking, stored drinking water in pitchers (83.00%), washed water storage containers frequently (62.00%), had not adopted measure for safe storage of drinking water (89.00%), took, ater with glass holding in the hand (91.50%) and stored drinking water in covered storage container (73.50%). Mass media related to water purifying technology was prepared and pre exposure and post exposure scores were assessed. A significant difference between pre-exposure and post exposure knowledge was found.
