A retrospective study of risk factors related to CHD was carried out in 358 CHD patients and 475 non-CHD cases. The data of CHD cases were collected from the hospital records while those of non-CHD cases were from a healthy survey undertaken in 1978. The relative risk of CHD for males was 5.1 times females for smokers was 2.4 times to non-smokers, for systolic B.P. (> 160 mm Hg), diastolic B.P. (> 90 mm Hg), fasting blood sugar (> 120 mg/100 ml) and serum cholesterol (220 mg/100 ml) were 20.2, 10.8, 264.2 and 4.3 times to the level below, respectively. The combination of age and systolic B.P., age and serum cholesterol, smoking habit and systolic B.P., smoking habit and serum cholesterol as risk factors of CHD provided more coronary risk than a single risk factor.
