Examination of the uterus of 96 slaughtered dromedaries revealed gross endometritis in 24 (8 cases of acute catarrhal endometritis, 3 acute suppurative, 9 chronic and 4 necrotic). Histological and bacteriological examination revealed subclinical endometritis in a further 8. Bacteria most commonly associated with endometritis were Corynebacterium pyogenes, Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyogenes and Escherichia coli.
