Soft contact lenses challenged with selected bacteria and fungi [Saccharomyces cerevisiae] were disinfected with 2 H2O2 disinfection systems. Rapid disinfection was achieved with most bacteria, but several fungi required at least 45 min in H2O2 for eradication. Extended soaking periods in H2O2 are recommended for lenses contaminated with fungi.
