Socio-economic status of impact thalassaemia child on families of Faisalabad District

A study was conducted to examine the socioeconomic status of the respondents and to determine the biological/physical causes and effects of thalassaemia. A total of 100 Pakistani children were studied. The findings of this study were: (a) majority of the mothers of thalassaemic children were educated; (b) education of the mothers helped in the awareness and understanding of thalassaemia; (c) majority of the fathers of thalassaemic children were educated and had favourable behaviour towards their child; and (d) almost all of the mothers were housewives and the fathers were employed/businessmen.
