In seven leucosis herds, two or more affected cattle had been born within four weeks of each other, and in 11 herds there was a high incidence of persistent lymphocytosis in adult cattle which had been born at about the same time as cattle that had since died from leucosis. In addition, similarities between dams and daughters for leucosis and lymphocytosis were observed.
