Topography of terminal degenerations of the corticospinal fibres after long-termed middle cerebral artery ligation was studied in a dog by the Nauta-Gygax method. C2, C7, T3, T7, L2, L5 segments were observed. After 15, 25 and 35 days surviving significant degenerations were found in the lower half of the dorsal spinal horns in intermedial area and in the dorsal half of the ventral spinal horns. Degenerations can be found in all studied segments. In the contralateral side they are more numerous. Occurrence of degenerations, except the cervical level, in the thoracic and lumbar portions of the spinal cord, is a consequence of malation which affects the part of capsula interna and by this fact axons as well, which have their origin in the area that is supplied by anterior cerebral artery.
