Large single doses as well as repeated small doses of ultrasonic energy cause a statistically significant increase in the size and number of Gomori-positive glial cells situated around the 3rd brain ventricle, the aqueduct and the lateral ventricles of albino mice of both sexes. These changes were more distinct when small repeated doses were applied. The reaction of females to ultrasonic energy was stronger than that of males.
