Patient 1, a 65-yr-old fisherman, presented with persistent bloody sputum. Bronchogenic carcinoma and pulmonary aspergillosis were diagnosed. No treatment was given due to the poor general health of the patient. Patient 2, a 68-yr-old businessman was admitted following an X-ray revealing an abnormality of the chest. Bronchoscopy revealed a fragile polypoid mass covered with whitish necrotic material protruding from the apico-posterior bronchus. A biopsy specimen revealed anaplastic adenocarcinoma and Aspergillus infection. Right upper lobectomy was performed.
