Toxicity of Bacillus sphaericus strains to selected target & non-target aquatic organisms

Toxicity of B. sphaericus strains 1593 M and 2362 was tested against selected target and non-target aquatic organisms. The target species (Culex quinquefasciatus) was killed at an extremely low concentration as compared to the non-target species [Daphnia similis, Rana bufo tadpoles, Streptocephalus dichotomus, Tubifex tubifex, Anisops bouvieri, laccotrephes maculatus and Chironomus larvae]. B. sphaericus strain 2362 was more toxic to the tested species as compared to B. sphaericus 1593 M.
