Features of dysphoric states developing within the framework of endogenous depression

In a series of 47 patients the psychopathological characteristics of dysphoric conditions developing in the presence of endogenous depression are described. Dysphorias in such cases present complex psychopathological formations characterized by the entanglement of the previous depressive background and dysphoric disturbances per se. Dysphorias undergo qualitative and quantitative alterations in the course of endogenous depressions. The stage of the emergence of dysphorias proper in the presence of endogenous depressions is preceded by the development of irritability arising in the structure of depressions as well.
