Nutritional muscular dystrophy and neonatal mortality in a rabbit breeding colony

The neonatal mortality in a commercial rabbit breeding colony reached 90% (1, 000 deaths) over a 4-month period, and breeding does became infertile. Acute degeneration and inflammatory changes were observed P.M. in skeletal muscle. Analysis of the ration revealed a low vitamin E and high vitamin D content.
