The features of K metabolism in various pathological conditions were considered, as were the problems of the diagnosis of K deficiency and its treatment. The total K content was studied in 140 patients with various cardiovascular diseases. The content was compared with that in healthy persons. Methods, proposed for K therapy, were based on the well known clinical correlation between acidosis and K content in the body. Hydrocarbonate solutions and K ions were simultaneously administered to the patients. K deficiency dynamics was determined using radiometric control. Recommendations were made for increasing the assimilability of K.
