The report summarizes the observations made in the course of Enzaprost F- and oxytocin infusion-induced labour and programmed labour of 100 normal pregnant women around term and in the late course of termination of pregnancy with Enzaprost F because of foetal death or severe developmental abnormalities in 25 pregnant women. According to the results both prostaglandin administration and oxytocin infusion may be valuable and safe methods for induction of labour as well if adequate dosage and monitoring of labour are assured. In case of intrauterine death, developmental abnormality PG infusion given according to the dosage schedule recommended by the authors (for termination of pregnancy) is practically the sole useful and professionally acceptable method.
