The pathogenetic mechanisms of disorders of platelet function in Glanzmann's thrombasthenia which play an important role in the pathogenesis of hemorrhagic diathesis in this disease are presented. Glycoprotein deficiency was detected in the membrane of thrombasthenic platelets which results in disordered aggregation capacity of platelets with various agonists. Several phenotypes of platelet membrane disorders were revealed evidencing genetic heterogeneity in such pathology.
