The efficacy of pre-operative treatment with intermittent positive-pressure ventilation and apneustic flowtime combined with nebulization of a .beta.-stimulating drug (fenoterol) and a secretolytic substance (ambroxol) were studied in a group of randomized subjects with bronchopulmonary disorders. Clinical and instrumental findings showed the usefulness of this treatment, and statistical evaluation of the results compared to a control group confirmed the favorable therapeutic and prophylactic effect of these methods.
