Sixty-eight cases of hydatidosis were seen at the district hospital in Chamoli, Garhwal, India, between 1976 and 1980. All the patients were of the Bhotia tribe. 48 were between 31 and 40 years old and 40 were females. 52 patients had liver cysts and 14 had pulmonary cysts. The Bhotias rear sheep and keep watch dogs.
