The most frequently occurring signs and symptoms of urogenital, intestinal, hapatolienal and cardiopulmonary schistosomiasis in man are presented and the chemotherapy is reviewed. The principal drugs currently used in Schistosoma japonica, S. haematobium, S. mansoni and S. intercalatum infections are listed, with dosages and factors limiting their use, i.e. contraindications, interactions and side-effects.
