Pathogen-free female mice, maintained on a stock diet, were given purified diets containing different amounts of Ca, P and Mg for 30 days. Ca in soft tissue and Ca, inorganic P and Mg in plasma were estimated. KK strain mice, which had hereditary diabetes, showed severe calcification of the heart and less in the lung, kidney, skeletal muscle and brown adipose tissue when given the stock diet.
