Chronic candidiasis in children and adolescents

Manifestations of candidosis (stomatitis and glossitis) were observed in early weeks after birth in 33 and during the 1st yr of life in 12 of the 53 cases reported. Only 8 showed localized infection (5 lesions of the oral cavity, 2 of skin, 1 of the nails). The lesions of the skin indicated squamous-hyperkeratotic, erosive, lintertriginous and papule4uberculate eruptions.
