Investigations involving 39 virgin female white mice failed to demonstrate passive transfer of pseudorabies virus (PRV) antibodies, either in utero or via colostrum and milk, to suckling young. Dams had been inoculated subcutaneously with -100 plaque-forming units of PRV on 4 consecutive days prior to mating and on day 16 of pregnancy.
