The effect of iodine, sodium nitrite, carbon disulphide and thiabendazole on Ascaris and Trichuris eggs, Strongyloides larvae and Ancylostoma eggs and larvae was studied under controlled conditions of pH and temperature. Iodine was found to be most effective. Thiabendazole was effective at low concentrations as an ovicide but had no effect on Ancylostoma and Strongyloides larvae.
