Using the metric, corrosive and radiological method, 100 isolated human livers were examined, taking measurements of diameters of openings of hepatic veins and the angle at with they opened into the vena cava inferior. The length of their main trunks and the number of their primary and secondary tributaries were also established. As a result of performed studies, the middle and the left hepatic vein are joined into the common trunk from 0.5-1.5 cm long before entering the vena cava inferior. The vascular model of hepatic veins met most often was also established. In this model, the right hepatic vein is 10.4 cm long, has 6 primary and 11 secondary tributaries. It opens into the vena cava inferior at the angle of 18.degree.; its opening diameter is 1.8 cm. The common opening of the middle and the left hepatic vein is of the diameter of 1.8 cm; it opens at the angle of 29.degree. The length of the main hepatic vein is 6.6 cm, and the left hepatic vein is 3.9 cm, taking into consideration the terminal segment as common for both vessels. The middle hepatic vein has 4 primary and 7 secondary tributaries, while the left hepatic vein has 3 and 7 tributaries, respectively.
