Biological methods were employed to study the titers of kallikrein, kininogen, kininase and free kinins in 87 patients suffering from rheumatic mitral heart disease, aged from 18-63 yr. Depending on the stage of circulatory insufficiency and activity of the rheumatic process; fibrinolytic activity was studied on the electrocoagulograph type H-333 and the data were compared to results of rheohepatography made with Biocomb-5. A linear dependence was recorded between the degree of activity of the rheumatic process, concentration of free kinins, depression of fibrinolytic activity and manifestation of rheographic changes in parameters of the hepatic blood flow. Apparently, the active rheumatic process, due to increase of free kinins and depression of fibrinolytic activity, leads to disorders of microcirculation which further on can contribute to development of insufficiency of the central and organ hemodynamics. Rheohepatography in patients with rheumatic heart disease in active form permits the detection of changes in organ hemodynamics even in the preclinical period.
