Calves given a purified diet with 5 or 37 ppm Zn for 2 weeks were killed at 1, 4, 8 and 24 h after 65Zn was given by duodenal catheter. Absorption, defined as 65Zn unrecovered in intestinal contents and faeces, was rapid during the first h with both diets. After 1 h absorption progressively diminished with little absorption after 8 h.
