1211 blastomeres were obtained by micromanipulation from 94 zygotes. After culture of the blastomeres for 24 h, the number of cells had nearly doubled. Altogether, 67% of the manipulated zygotes could be karyotyped, and the micromanipulation technique had no effect on the viability of the zygotes either in vivo or in vitro.
