The ability of transferrin to enter red cell precursors by endocytosis was employed in order to insert genetic material into canine erythroblasts in vivo. This was facilitated with the formation of a DNA-histone-transferrin complex in vitro. A large amount of genetic material was successfully inserted into cells.
